Oasis of gorgeousness.
Stunning location, stunning facilities & stunning service. Great stay which we would highly recommend. Nothing less than 100% satisfaction. Helmsley is a beautiful place to stay with access to so many amenities, cafes’s and restaurants, tourist attractions and the North York Moors. 1st class
Stayed 3 nights in the 3rd class Victorian railway carriage, but it was 1st class all the way!  The whole experience was lovely. We had wonderful breakfasts served in the garden each morning which set us up for the day. The hosts were friendly and attentive without being intrusive. Beautiful, unique bed and breakfast experience
Had a wonderful five night stay in the Railway Carriage in September. Louise and Richard could not have been nicer or more welcoming. The flexibility and standard of the breakfasts was superb, and although the weather wasn't quite good enough for us to eat in the garden, Richard very kindly delivered it to the railway carriage for us each morning! A suburb place to stay!

Quirky, quaint and gorgeous railway carriage!
Booked here with my husband and teenagers to help us through a family bereavement.  Louise and Richard were charming, supportive, understanding and very professional.  The railway carriage is the most adorable quirky venue, with incredible private courtyard garden.  Breakfast was served either in the magnificent kitchen, or in the inspirational garden.  We did both and loved every mouthful!  If you love history being celebrated in design and restoration, then this beautiful place is really special.  Walkers can fill their boots without using a car, and the myriad of eateries and drinkeries, makes for a wonderfully relaxing break. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the railway carriage.  Louise & Richard are very welcoming.  Our choice of breakfast was delivered to the carriage on time every morning.  Louise will make whatever you want & kept trying to get us to eat more! When I requested cornflakes & fruit rather than a cooked breakfast she made me a beautiful fruit salad.The carriage is quirky & has everything you need. When the bed is down space is quite tight so you do have to be tidy. We used the small bunk room as a dressing room & that worked out fine.Helmsley is a good base and has lots of independent shops & restaurants. Had an absolutely fantastic 2 night stay in this converted old railway carriage. The owners Louise & Richard were brilliant, nothing was to much trouble. They put themselves out to your needs. Gave loads of info on places to visit, places to eat. The carriage itself is fully kitted out with everything you need to be comfortable but they have managed to also keep it's original characteristics. Quirky and Gorgeous
What a lovely way to spend a weekend! We stayed in the Railway Carriage for the weekend to celebrate a special birthday and it was fabulous. Beautifully restored, cosy and extremely attentive hosts that couldn't do enough for us. The bespoke breakfast was absolutely delicious and a lovely touch to be able to order whatever you would like. Could not have asked for more!
I booked the railway carraige for my parents but was able to stay with them for a night. They could not have been happier. The carraige was both lovingly and tastefully restored with quality fixtures, fittings and nice touches to make you smile. My parents very much appreciated the complimentary biscuits and drinks.I had a delicious and huge plate of beans on toast for breakfast but am reliably informed by my parents that their full English was just about the best they had ever had.
